Staff Man Eschews Shoes for Good Cause

By Kier Malloy

Wyatt Amdahl didn’t wear shoes in September.

The Kooch-i-ching staff man forwent footwear last month to raise money for Soles4Souls, a Nashville-based charity that collects lightly used shoes and ships them to countries around the world, where they are given to those who cannot afford them.

“Donating to people in need of shoes doesn't just give them shoes on their feet,” says Wyatt, a sophomore at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. “It also provides them with hope, better health and increased opportunity in their daily lives.”

Without shoes, children are prevented from attending school and adults are unable to work, according to Soles4Souls, which has distributed more than 35 million pairs of shoes in 127 countries.

For his part, Wyatt raised more than $1,000 dollars from friends, family and strangers. That translates to over 1,000 individuals who will be gifted a pair of shoes thanks to Wyatt’s bare feet and big heart.

Way to go, Wyatt! You certainly did your share of the work.
